Care of your Plated Gold and Rose Gold Jewellery
Our Rose Gold and Gold pieces are plated to the highest standard available.
As with all jewellery, taking the right precautions will prolong the life of your jewellery significantly.
Although gold / rose gold-plated jewellery will not tarnish like silver, it will get dirty with wear and chemicals, lotions, perfumes and moist conditions will corrode it. Gold / rose gold-plated jewellery can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a really soft toothbrush. Then rinse thoroughly & dry well. Gold / rose gold plate may in time slightly fade depending on wear and the amount of care taken.
Never go swimming in your jewellery, chlorine in swimming pools can cause damage.
To prolong the Gold or Rose gold plating, remove rings, bracelets, etc. when washing hands or using hand sanitizer.
Avoid wearing rings when cleaning, gardening or performing sports activities.
Avoid your Rose gold or Gold plated jewellery coming into contact with perfume or perfumed lotions. The perfume may react with the plating and cause it to wear off.
Rose gold and Gold plated pieces are delicate jewellery items. Care should be taken when cleaning gold plated jewellery to protect the layer of gold from being worn away.
DO NOT use a silver cloth or abrasive compounds i.e. baking soda to clean the Gold plated jewellery.
To clean Gold plated jewellery wipe lightly your Gold plated piece with a damp cotton cloth to remove surface dirt or dust. Be sure it is completely dry before storing the jewellery again.
Ideally, store your jewellery in a soft lined box or pouch. Try to keep pieces apart, so that they don't rub together or tangle up. A great way to keep your jewellery shiny for longer is in a ziploc or grip-seal bag.
Our pieces are delicate and we take no responsibility for careless wear or storage.
Treat your jewellery with care and it will be around for you to enjoy for a long time!
